Why? This project is the result of a reflection on the history of Cambodia. The Khmer Rouge was systematically erasing everything that could make people smarter. Academics were killed and books were burned - even culture did not escape the insanity of Khmer Rouge. This project is an attempt to revive a little corner of what the Khmer Rouge tried to erase. |

Who? The project was founded by the retired Dr. Peter Holmgren (PhD), who has been very active in rebuilding and supporting areas of Cambodian society. Due to old age health reasons, he is not able to run around so much, so this project is perfect for him. |

Status Currently there are more than 50 books available on the Blogger site. This website is quite new and requires new fresh coding. The code is HTML and is strictly following a 1992 HTML policy. The reason for this, is that old phones and bad connections can also enjoy reading the books. No CMS is used. It is all pure code. Also the blind with special reading devices can enjoy these books. The site is fully optimized for this. |

Future Well - there are thousands of books out there waiting to be translated and it will take at least two lifetimes before all existing books are translated. But as many as possible will be translated. |

The Books All books are "public domain", which means no one owns the right anymore. All the authors are dead and gone more than 50 years ago. |

An Opportunity If people write books, they can make money. Really good books will make a lot of money. Of course this also depends on advertising of the book. If a book is finished and ready to be published, use http://lulu.com. Lulu is a publishing website, which is incredibly user friendly. People can buy your book, but you pay for printing. If printing cost is $5 per book, and your price is $15 per book, then you earn $10 per book. It is that easy. Oh! And Sita-Books does not charge anything! It is all for you. |

Money! Yes money. We all like money. This project is privately financed. There is no income. But... It would be nice with donations. Everything you see has been created using a tablet. A computer, like a laptop would be a nice tool to have, but it is not strictly necessary. |

Affiliates and Supporters - Officially the project is supported by the Royal Danish Ministry of Culture. They don't give money - they just give that pat on the shoulder with the words "Good job! You can certainly use our logo!" - An email was sent to the Maddox foundation, but they never answered. Special people don't answer if they don't think what you do or who you are has any value. - The Gutenberg Project gave a "thumbs up" and "Good luck!". |

Celebrity Status Currently, hardly anyone know about this project. People don't really share and promote much. These days, Facebook videos of crazy cats is more interesting for people than reading a book. So celebrity status is currently 0. Maybe that is good, because it sucks to be a celebrity in this world and more time can be used on translating books. |
